Kilauea was a former plantation town located 23 miles northwest of Lihue. Kilauea incorporated in the early 1800's. It really became known when the Kilauea Lighthouse, using the largest clamshell lens was built in 1913 on its postcard landmark bluff. Aluakai Estate is located adjacent to the lighthouse on a sequestered 8 acre site. The estate is comprised of three separate accommodations with mature gardens, rolling lawns, horse pastures, fruit orchids and a rare tropical nursery.

Estate House

    The Estate House is a majestic gated ocean front retreat that is a completely private oasis for even the most discriminating. The House overlooks Secrets Beach where dolphins and whales play, and sets the foreground for views of hypnotic Bali Hai. The Estate House is genuine Hawaiian style, designed by the famous architect, Scott Wilson.

The Estate House has an open floor plan and high beam ceilings which is perfect for relaxed entertainment. There is a commercial grade kitchen that flows into the dining area and then to the spacious living room with a large lava rock fireplace. The den has it all for the audio and video connoisseur. Virtually every room has sweeping ocean views. The large master bedroom and bath open onto the tropical botanical pool and spa. The additional two large guest bedrooms are well appointed.

Japanese House

     The Japanese House also known as "The Love Shack," is a private hideaway. Its Japanese motif of cane and rice paper, soji screen doors and high wood beam ceilings that are caressed by the Southsea Tradewinds, provides a tranquil setting for romance and relaxation.
     The "Love Shack is embraced by an array of fruit trees and rare tropical flowers that are spectacular. Island Life most likely will take over given the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Fronted by a large lanai you can sit in a 42- jet seamless spa and look out across sweeping panoramic white water ocean views accompanied by sounds of the sea. 

Pool Cottage

     This overly large retreat is surrounded by lovely gardens with a stone path that leads you to the lush botanical pool and spa.  The cottage is complete with full kitchen, private bath, stereo center and a large open floor plan that includes the bedroom, living room and adjoining dining area.
